Annual band

₹50,000/month
The top of the range on 5 listings currently on the AORE board — a ceiling, not an offer.
02The work
What the job actually involves
- Design and install window and in-store displays to a seasonal calendar
- Implement brand VM guidelines and keep the store compliant with them
- Style mannequins and build coordinated product stories
- Plan fixture layout and customer flow through the floor
- Brief and train floor staff on maintaining the display
- Report on which displays moved stock and which did not
03The route
How to get there
Complete 10+2; a degree in design or fashion helps but is not required.
Take a visual merchandising certificate or diploma to learn planograms and fixture planning properly.
Build a portfolio — photograph every window and display you touch, before and after.
Start as a VM assistant or as a floor consultant who volunteers for display work.
Learn to argue a creative decision with sell-through data, not taste.
04Eligibility
What employers ask for
10+2 minimum. A design or fashion background is an advantage, not a requirement.
05Skills
What matters, and why
- Composition and styling
- A window has about three seconds to stop someone walking past.
- Planogram literacy
- Chains run on repeatable layouts, not one-off creativity.
- Spatial planning
- Customer flow determines which fixtures get seen at all.
- Brand guideline discipline
- A brand pays for consistency across 200 stores, not for your version.
- Sell-through analysis
- It is how you prove the display worked and get the budget again.
- Physical execution
- Installation happens after closing, quickly, with what is in the stockroom.
